Game 1:  Winfield and North Delta came out with hard hitting, great defense and great net minding (74 shots on the Winfield net).  North Delta took the game with a score of 2-0.

Game 2: Host team, Seafair, had their second game of the day pitting them against Winfield, their second game of the day as well. This game had it all-hard hits, overflowing penalty boxes and a penalty shot. Seafair won by a score of 7-2.

Game 3:  Winfield played Vancouver.  This was a very physical game.  The score was 4-2 for Vancouver after two periods.  Vancouver extended their lead with a couple of beautiful goals in the third resulting in an 8-2 win.

Game 4:  Winfield and Juan de Fuca had a hard fought game, back and forth, with Winfield getting the winning goal for a 4-3 win.

Game 5:  Winfield And Richmond played a very evenly matched game, even though it resulted in a 5-1 win for Richmond.

The tournament organizers noted that the Winfield Bruins were the most polite team there.  They were also impressed at the development of the team and their overall improvement in passing, checking and net-minding abilities.

Winfield came in 4th place overall.

Richmond beat Seafair to win the Juvenile Tier 1 Provincial Championships for the 4th year in a row

Given where this team was at in early January, the team came together extremely well from then onward.  They had excellent practice and game attendance.  A great deal of commitment and effort was shown by all players both on the ice and in their fund-raising.  The positive comments from the Juvenile tournament organizers and BC Hockey indicate that this team competed very well and showed significant improvement over the prior year.  They represented WDMHA and OMAHA very proudly.

Several of our Juvenile players are invited to various Junior team tryouts this spring.  We wish everyone well.

All our players are very appreciative for the support they received from the community and our sponsors.  It wouldn’t have happened without your help!
