Arena Update and Change to COVID Screening Policy Effective Saturday Oct 23rd 2021-please forward to ALL player families

Great news, we will have access to our brand new accessible washrooms in the main foyer starting Saturday morning. The lobby and concession areas will still be blocked off but we will be able to use the washrooms.

With this exciting progress, we are also able to extend our spectator capacity to 75. Which means that each player will be able to bring two spectators into the building.

As per the most current order from Interior Health, all spectators at indoor sports events (youth and adult) with greater than 50 spectators, require proof of full vaccination (2 doses).

With this increase in spectators, we are switching from contact tracing to screening for vaccine passports.

Effective Saturday Oct 23, 2021 all WDMHA spectators over 12 years of age must provide their BC Vaccine Passport and photo ID (persons under 18 do not need to provide ID) to the COVID Ambassador, there will be no exceptions.

All teams must have two persons at the door screening vaccine passports with a scannable QR code. The link to the app for screening is below:

The WDMHA wifi code is hockeypuck.

Teams will still be arriving no more than 30 minutes before their event, spectators will be allowed in 5 minutes prior to the event, must be seated in the stands and asked to vacate the building immediately after the event.

If any person does not show proof of vaccine passports and enters the event, the COVID ambassadors will make a note and report it to the WDMHA Board of Directors. The person entering without proof of vaccine or verbally abusing any COVID ambassadors at any arena will face an automatic suspension of 30 days from any WDMHA sanctioned event. A second infraction at any point in the season will result in a suspension for the remainder of the season. Any person who opens side doors or helps anyone bypass the vaccine passport will be subject to the same suspensions.

If someone has been asked to leave the facility and does not do so, the event will not start. The puck will not drop, the players will not be allowed on the ice until the person has left the building.

Many thanks to our amazing volunteers who have been helping make this a great season so far !!

Thank you,
